The idea
Finding a great photography location takes time. You search forums, dig through Instagram geotags, ask in Facebook groups, and still show up to a spot not knowing where to park, whether you need a permit, or what time the light actually hits right.
ShotSpot is the app I wanted when I was shooting professionally. A single place to discover curated locations, see golden hour timing, read practical tips from photographers who have actually been there, and log the spots you want to visit next.
What it does
The core is an interactive map with thousands of locations filtered by shot type and community rating. Each spot includes sunrise and sunset timing, practical logistics like parking and permit requirements, and photos and tips shared by other photographers.
Users can save spots to a personal wishlist, log visits, and contribute their own finds to the community database. The goal is a resource that gets more useful the more photographers use it.
