Custom Discord Bot

A tournament engine and community hub built inside Discord.

RC.

The situation

Redsec Competitive Server is a Battlefield 6 Discord community that runs organized tournaments for its members. Before the bot, running a tournament meant manually tracking sign-ups in a spreadsheet, building brackets by hand, and posting score updates one message at a time. The community had outgrown what a server admin with a spreadsheet could realistically manage.

The goal was to bring the entire tournament lifecycle — and the everyday community features — directly into Discord, where the players already were.

What was built

A fully custom Discord bot that handles tournaments end-to-end: players sign up with a command, get assigned to rosters, and scores are updated live as matches complete. Brackets and standings post automatically to the relevant channels.

Alongside tournaments, the bot handles everyday community life. The LFG system lets players post and find open spots for casual matches without clogging up general chat. And because the bot is connected to the Battlefield stats API, any member can run a command to pull up their current stats and recent match results directly in Discord.
